Unable to install--fails [solved]

Well–I resolved the issue. It makes no sense to me at all why I am the only one having the issue. Here is a summary of what it was.

When MIAB installs bind a file is placed in the /etc/bind folder called named.conf.options. In that file there is a setting set as follows:

dnssec-validation auto;

If I install bind before installing miab and change that setting from ‘auto’ to ‘yes’ and then install miab it works without any issues or problems. Name resolution is never lost and the install completes with no errors. I don’t understand it. Looks like if it happens to me on a fresh install of Ubuntu 22.04 it would happen to everyone on a fresh install of Ubuntu 22.04 who then installs miab.

Anyway–wanted to let you all know in case anyone else runs into the issue. If your Ubuntu 22.04 box loses name resolution in the middle of the installation of miab–just make the single change to the above file and your install should complete with no issues.

Thanks for those of you who offered help and ideas. I am always impressed with the quality of people on this forum.

Mike
