The management daemon refused access. The API key file may be out of sync. Try 'service
mailinabox restart'.

Tried “service mailinabox restart”

root@box:~# service mailinabox restart
 * Restarting Mail-in-a-Box Management Daemon mailinabox                        start-stop-daemon:
warning: failed to kill 7649: No such process
  • And fixed today ,on dev. master. see changelog

I got the “Incorrect username or password” when upgrading, but on hard boot (not just mailinabox service restart) everything appears to be fine.

Do you still have this issue?

Excuse the newbie post, I am a newbie but have learnt so much already and have you all to thank for that

I have a similar issue also.

My admin page insists that I need to upgrade to v0.26b yet when I run the “sudo apt-get update” command it suggests that no packages require updating. when running “sudo apt-get upgrade” 0 packages are updated.

Furthermore, when I use the command “sudo mailinabox” it has the above issues with incorrect username or password. I also receive the same failure to restart message. I have also tried a hard reset through my VPS service provider.

Does anyone have any extra ideas?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi Christo

All you need to do to update to the latest version is to run the install command again:
curl -s https://mailinabox.email/setup.sh | sudo bash

This downloads and runs the latest mailinabox setup script.

Hi NatCC,

Thanks for the response ill add this command to the list of things I need to remember

Seems to have done the trick
