Nextcloud failure after PHP update

Hi,

This morning my mail box upgraded php8.0 packages from Ubuntu, and I’m now getting complaints from Nextcloud.

Trying to log in to mail.example.com/cloud I get the message:

Cannot write into "apps" directory.

This can usually be fixed by giving the web server write access to the apps directory or disabling the App Store in the config file.

I have changed nothing, and I haven’t fiddled with nextcloud in the past.

The only change on the server is the update of all the php8.0 packages.

Any ideas?

Thank you a million.

I had arrived at the PHP update, but I had never to to that system unit file change on my own.

Thanks for the post. I had the same problem and this worked for me.

It took me a couple of days to realise all my calendar events were missing, so thanks @pokeswithastick  .
