Migrating IMAP mailboxes from mailcow

Hello,
after setting up Mail-in-a-Box successfully in a VPS I want to migrate my existing mails located on my old mailcow server that is using the same domain mydomain.example as Mail-in-a-Box.

Mailcow is using Dovecot IMAP server, too.
Therefore I think it should be possible to migrate all mailboxes and emails.

Could you please advise for recommended (or best practise) migration process?

If you can have both IMAP servers running at the same time, https://imapsync.lamiral.info/ seems to be very easy.
Dovecot also has some documentation on importing and migrating mailboxes, but I’ve used neither, so cannot help you much there.
