Miab upgrade KO from Ubuntu 18.04.6 LTS + Miab v57a to v60.1

Hello all,

i wish to upgrade Miab to latest version (v60.1) but Miab upgrade process has no effect.
i use Linux : curl -s https://mailinabox.email/setup.sh | sudo bash
Upgrade process works but after running upgrade i’m still on v57a.

OS version : Ubuntu 18.04.6 LTS (GNU/Linux 4.15.0-194-generic x86_64)
Miab current version : v57a

My wish to update Miab to v60.1 from Ubuntu 18.04 in order to backup/restore Miab to a new VPS running Ubuntu 22.04 with Miab v60.1

if this normal not to be able to update Miab to v60.1 on Ubuntu 18.04 (even if OS is up to date) ?

many thanks in advance for your support.

François

You can only install Miab v60.x on a box running Ubuntu 22.04. Ubuntu 18.04 is limited to v57a and before. You need to restore your v57a backup to a fresh v60.x install on Ubuntu 22.04.

Hi eXTric,

thanks for your feedback.
i understand this won’t be possible.

too bad, I would have prefered to move
from Ubuntu 18.04 + Miab v60.1
to Ubuntu 22.04 + Miab v60.1 (ISO Migration) in order to avoid any regression or bug.

The changes in v60 are related to properly configuring the updated packages installed by Ubuntu 22.04. There is no v60 for Ubuntu 18.04 because it wouldn’t be compatible with the earlier packages installed by Ubuntu 18.04.

Hi Josh

there is wish on one hand and technical constraints on the other. :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks for your answer.
