Trying to get gmail to fetch emails from my box

Hi all, Hope someone can help.

Ive got my box all set up on a digital ocean droplet, running ubuntu 18.04.

The status checks are all green, and the firewall port 955 is open

g- mail is allowing me to send as, from the box, but when I try to get G mail to connect and fetch the incoming e-mails from the box, it keeps giving me a timeout error.

I have followed all of the instructions to the letter, and it just won’t work.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

What happens if you check the “Always use a secure connection (SSL)…” option?

Also, IIRC, not checking the “Leave a copy of retreived message on the server.” means Gmail will delete every message after downloading to Gmail.
