System Status Check not same as video

My System Status Check is a little different than what is in the video. I am using a different domain registrar so I can’t follow exactly what is shown.

In the video it shows settings for three domains. box.joshmail.xyz, joshmail.xyz, and www.box.joshmail.xyz.

My setup does not have anything listed for the middle one. I do have listings for box.mydomain.ca and www.box.mydomain.ca, but nothing for the root domain of mydomain.ca.

I also have the following warning under the box.mydomain.ca section:

The nameservers set on this domain at your domain name registrar should be ns1.box.drdanboyle.ca; ns2.box.drdanboyle.ca. They are currently [Not Set]. If you are using External DNS, this may be OK.

My registrar doesn’t have glue feature, so I have to configure things manually. The glue records are reported as setup correctly.

Hope I have been clear enough is describing the situation. Any assistance is appreciated.

Dan

The video is an older version afaik which might have changed since then.

That being said is the domain working correctly otherwise?

Thanks for replying. I haven’t tested any functionality of the domain yet. I am was just trying to get this status screen to match.

I have a beginners understanding of DNS settings. Still not sure I following.

Should the root domain be listed as part of the System Status report?

Dan

I’m using an external domain name server, and I have the root domain in my System Status report.
