Recovery issue --

Hi guys!

First of all, I want to say that I’m NOT a programmer and have nothing to do with development. I’m just a regular user who had to create a topic here because the only button on the login page redirected me to this forum. So, let’s get into the issue.

Some time ago, I bought an account with a related email address ending in ‘.space’ The seller provided 'solareclipse.pro/mail/'as the login page. I successfully logged in, was asked to change the password, did so and then forgot it. So now the question is: Can I recover it?

As far as I understand, the system stores the email on a server, and maybe an admin or support person could reset the password to a new one. Like I said, I’m not an expert in this kind of stuff, so if anyone can offer hints or suggestions, feel free to reply.

From your message I concludeer that you do not host Mailinabox yourself, but that you bought access to a mail server. Unfortunately, the person who sold you this, did not update the links to this forum.
This forum is meant for people who run their own mailinabox mail servers. We cannot help you with this specific question because we have no access to the mentioned mailserver (unless the admin is also on this forum :innocent:)
I recommend you try to contact the person you bought this from through the earlier means of communication you have had. There must have been contact before?

Thanks for the response

Unfortunately (for me), the guy who sold me the account says ‘there’s no way to recover access’. Ty anyway!

That’s interesting.
If you have admin access to the machine, you should be able to run from the mailinabox installation directory:
sudo management/cli.py user password <user@domain.com> <password>
to set a new password for a user. I would expect your guy to have admin access.
But perhaps there’s something I’m not seeing here…
