I found that it takes a long time for my post office to receive mail. After testing, it takes 15 seconds for an email sent from Google Mail to be received by my post office. The content of the email is relatively small. I would like to know how long it takes for an email to be delivered and received.
It’s likely being held up by grey listing.
(Or graylisting) is a method of defending e-mail users against spam. A mail transfer agent (MTA) using greylisting will “temporarily reject” any email from a sender it does not recognize. If the mail is legitimate, the originating server will, after a delay, try again and if sufficient time has elapsed, the email will be accepted. If the mail is from a spammer it will probably not be retried since a spammer goes through thousands of email addresses and typically cannot afford the time delay to retry.

Have you tested it with the same email address multiple times? If it’s being held up as grey mail, it should only happen the first time until it’s an established sender.
You can try to disable grey listing and test again to validate if that is causing the delay:

Also something worth considering is that SMTP is not an instantaneous protocol. So delay is to be expected. This delay can be dependent on many factors outside of your control. Spam filtering, dns look ups, sending server, etc.
Ok, Thank you for your reply.
no problem, please keep us posted if you find anything interesting after testing. Would be useful for future lurkers.
