Is there a good alternative for puck net?
There are a few free secondary DNS providers around, check google. I’ve tried https://freedns.afraid.org/ - it’s a bit clunky and you need to confirm your existence every 6 months, but it works.
Gandi.net provide secondary DNS for domains registered with them. They’re expensive but you do get more than the bare minimum. Try your registrar.

Their server is still providing (secondary) DNS services for me, but the login is broken.
They did have some kind of major problems a while ago. The secondary DNS took a long time to come back (weeks/months) so I guess that providing that free service is a low priority 
Pity - but I don’t think I’m prepared to offer such services myself. And anyway, I can’t be my own secondary

I switched from puck to afraid back when puck just went silent for an extended period of time. Problem with afraid is, a couple times a week I get a status email showing timeout errors. For now I’ll stick with it, but I’m wondering if it’s better to have no secondary than a secondary that’s occasionally not working.
I see timeouts too with my ISP, I don’t worry too much about this as it only lasts for a few minutes typically in the middle of the night.
It’s also possible to have multiple secondaries. I use three: puck, afraid.org and Hetzner. Other alternatives are FreeDNS - No limits, free of charge, DYNDNS, DNSSEC, TLSA and more. https://dns.he.net/ and https://www.buddyns.com/ and there are plenty more.
Hi I have used Hurricane for many many months now ever since PUCK went offline and have not had one single issue.
Hurricane does not support DNSSEC
