Hi I’m upgrading my mailinabox, I haven’t upgraded in forever… I’m wondering will there be any issues from upgrading from version v61.1 to v72 the newest version. I know in the past there were was issues regarding versions so I wanted to know if it’s an all clear now
I’m running Ubuntu 22.04
My mail server has a lot of users please let me know thanks
I know once for sure that for my setup I need to turn on IPv6 addressing which somehow gets disabled upon rebooting. This causes nsd4 to fail for some reason and then my nameserver goes in hiding.
When upgrading within Ubuntu versions like this upgrade, there’s usually nothing to worry about. Still, it’s good advice to make a backup or disk image, and then try it out. A good VPS provider should have tools to assistt with this. That way you can try the update, and roll back if something goes wrong.
This is not helping you, but it’s usually bind that has ipv6 issues. You will encounter this issue both for small and large updates. I still advice to update, but carefully note how you resolved the issue. That way you have confidence for the next time. Also, those notes might help other people and might even be included in a MiaB update if generically applicable.
Hi so anyone who was wondering about this upgrade I finally did it and it worked fine nothing broke everything is good only issue I had was with a python error but I reinstalled python and it worked fine
Thank you for reporting back.
For future generations why might encounter the same, coule you elaborate a bit on the error you encountered? (if you still remember)
