New Server with New Domain

I am moving my MIAB to a new server to hopefully get an IP address that isn’t being blocked.

In the process I also wish to update the domain I am using to serve the box.

The move instructions say that in order to do a backup and restore I must “use the hostname that you are currently using.”

Can I use that same hostname and still change the domain using to serve my MIAB. eg. box.old_domain.xzy to box.new_domain.com?

The maintenance guide assumes that you are wanting to continue using the same domain. You can indeed change the hostname, but keep in mind that if you use external DNS for any domains, you will need to change the MX records.
