Mail failing at gmx.com domain

i received this message (below) when sending a test message to some at gmx.com…i just setup mailinabox on digitalocean with gandi.net dns … all systems test pass 100% and i can send a test email to my gmail account. any ideas what is wrong?

When I check dnsbl web site for bl and spam it’s shows “ok” for all categories with this message

rDNS/PTR record for 142.93.80.222 is “box.danmarotta.com”.

Some mail servers will not accept mail from IP addresses with no rDNS/PTR record or a generic PTR record.

The IP address was previously on the Barracuda list but is now not on it.

The rDNS statement is there no matter the result.

Try sending the mail again and see if you get the same response.

I had the same issue (554 error code). I contacted their support and explained my situation and asked them to lift the ban.

What I did was to fill out the form on their blacklist page using the postmaster@mydomain.tld and gave as much useful information as possible.

They replied quickly and polite and informed me that they unbanned my IP.

Now, it works flawlessly with their email addresses…
