Issue with new setup, continuous prompts for password

Hi all,

I just setup a new box 3 days ago, yesterday mail clients began asking for passwords to be entered again, I’ve done some searching and looked through logs but can’t seem to find the cause for this.

We are using Outlook on our computers and there is a single Android and iPhone device that are connected to seperate mail accounts right now and all these devices are asking for passwords to be re-entered.

I’m including a snippet of the Z-push-error.log (I’ve edited identifiable information out and replaced https with editedforpostinglimitations since it identified those addresses as links and I currently have a posting limit of 2 links)
It would be great if someone can give me a nudge in the right direction to solve this issue.

Thanks!

Have you tried reseting password and clearing out Windows Credential Storage?

Thanks for the reply @murgero

Yes, I did do that for my computer and cleared cache on the mobile devices, I even completely reinstalled Office and the Apps on my mobile device.

I have made some progress on this though.

I reinstalled the server last night (complete reload, no old data was used) and created just one email account, installation went fine on my desktop so I waited ~1-2 hours to see if it prompted for password re-entry which it never did. I then installed the account to Outlook mobile (android) and almost immediately it prompted for me to re-enter the password and it also flagged the desktop version of Outlook to ask for the password again. I set both clients up with Exchange/Activesync initially.

I then removed the account from Outlook mobile and set it up with IMAP and it seems to be fine, I also was able to set up the account with 2 other email apps (Nine and Gmail) and those are working fine with Exchange/Activesync.

So the issue appears to be related to Outlook mobile but I really have no idea how to identify why, this is a concern because other users will be more reluctant to use a different app and IMAP won’t sync calendars/contacts.

Any thoughts?

PS, I have since restored the original server with the backup I took before wiping it since the problem wasn’t cleared up with a reload/reinstall.

I would use K9 mail client for mobile devices with IMAP Automatic (push) if your device supports it.

CardDAV/CalDAV will sync all that stuff for you as well.
