iCloud Hide my email mail delivery delay

Running the box on Linode and using Gandi for the network stuff.

I am using hide my email from Apple to forward to the miab box for throwaway accounts, however, the emails are arriving with significant delay, over couple of minutes (up to 15), which is an issue, whenever I need to complete time-out email verification actions (increasingly more prominent).

When I switch the forwarding relay to any of my addresses outside of the box, they arrive near instantaneously.

Also when I send from any of the other email addresses directly to the box, it arrives on the spot.

Is there a setting I am missing? Is it the forwarding relay reply-to address? Relay domain? Something else?

This sounds like greylisting.
What might work is editing /etc/postgrey/whitelist_recipients Add the receving email address to a new line. Then sudo systemctl restart postgrey

To confirm it’s greylisting, look for the word grey in /var/log/mail.log
