Is it possible to horizontally scale MAIB - so even if 1 VM goes down, the other can still send and receive emails. thank you
Short answer: No.
Longer answer: You could probably script something with imapsync or simliar tools that is synchronizing your mailboxes to a cold-standby server, but that would be considered an unsupported modification, and I don’t know how feasible it would be to try something like this with Mail-in-a-Box.
If you’re talking about real High Availibility, then the answer would be a definitive no. Respectively, you would have to modify the original product to such an extent, and add additional things to it, that it would have nothing to do with the original product anymore. At this point it would be way easier to build something adequate from scratch.
