Having trouble emailing myself

I have an ubuntu server here at home that I want to have forward all its root emails to myself at my mailinabox email address. I have followed the directions here https://mailinabox.email/advanced-configuration.html

My home server I’m trying to send email to doesnt have a “real” domain name. It’s simply named “hondaserver” When I try and send an email to myself, hondaman@mydomain.com, it doesn’t go through and when I check the mail.err log, it says that “hondaman@hondaserver: Sender address rejected: need fully-qualified address (in reply to RCPT TO command)”

Is there an easy way to simply forward any root emails to myself? I also tried a little program called “SSMTP” and couldnt make it work either.

It should work for you.
