For Encryption, What should I used?

I have a XenForo forum and want to use Mail-in-a-Box installed server for sending and receiving an email.

So I will use SMTP. For Encryption, What should I used?TLS or SSL? Same port 587?

Can I host my whole DNS to Cloudflare Free so that I can have a free wildcard SSL?

Same settings as listed in the mail instructions in the control panel.

You can have external DNS if you follow the instructions (see the setup guide).

That means having Cloudflare actually host (as a proxy) the website. That will work for any domain except for the box’s own hostname, which must be hosted on the box.

So do you mean it’s TLS?

Then that will defeat of having cloudflare, to have instant fress wildcard SSL.
I think the only option is to purchase wildcard SSL :frowning:

Probably. XenForo is using the incorrect term if those are the options. (“TLS” and “SSL” mean the same thing. “STARTTLS” is the correct term.)

So either TLS or SSL will both work fine?

No. TLS/SSL is incorrect. But they probably mean STARTTLS when they say TLS.
