if you have setup mailinabox on digital ocean, should you use ns1.box.example.com/ns1.box.example.com or ns1/ns2/ns3.digitalocean.com on your domain name registrars control panel?

Have you followed the instructions:

The answer is unique to your use case … is mail the only thing on your domain, then in most cases you would use the MiaB server for DNS.

If you run a web server separately from MiaB then in most cases you’d be better to use ‘external DNS’ - in this case digitalocean.

However, neither answer is set in stone … as there are multiple variables to consider.
