Hi,
I have setup my glue records in GANDI but my mail in a box keeps telling me:
goodx.software
✓ DNSSEC ‘DS’ record is set correctly at registrar.
The nameservers set on this domain are incorrect. They are currently [Not Set]. Use your domain name registrar’s control panel to set the nameservers to ns1.box.goodx.software; ns2.box.goodx.software.
This domain’s DNS MX record is not set. It should be ‘10 box.goodx.software’. Mail will not be delivered to this box. It may take several hours for public DNS to update after a change. This problem may result from other issues listed here.
However if I do a dig I get this:
dig +norec @demand.alpha.aridns.net.au. goodx.software. NS
;; AUTHORITY SECTION:
goodx.software. 86400 IN NS ns1.box.goodx.software.
goodx.software. 86400 IN NS ns2.box.goodx.software.
;; ADDITIONAL SECTION:
ns1.box.goodx.software. 86400 IN A 197.96.196.23
ns2.box.goodx.software. 86400 IN A 197.96.196.22
Which I think is looking correct, but I do not understand the whole glue record thing. I have forwarded all ports into the system and a portscan says everything is open… I cannot think what else could be wrong. I did have this perfectly setup at home with much more complex portforward setup. My guess is it is a version change in the software, some weird issue with gandi where changing the setup somehow doesn;t change everything correctly, or a environmental issue on at my rack or the VM I have there (which would surprise me as everything is stock standard except I am using a different DNS than at home)
Any pointers, or if I am asking this in the wrong place, please point me in the right direction.
I really do want to understand the glue record system but I am getting very little good info. I want to add two more domains on this box and manage all the emails from there, which is also looking like it might not be as easy as I thoguht, pointers on that one would be nice as well… I am willing to go off script and dive into the inner workings.
Thanks,
Kobus
