hi there i have my own server and i was wondering how i can you that insted of a vertual server/server rented/bought from some were els my server is more then powerfull enugh its got dual 2.4ghz amd quad core cpu 16gb of ram and 700gb of starage i was just wondering this as it is just sat in my claset doing nothing and throught to put it to good use
You can use your own server, but you should not use a residential internet connection unless 1) you can obtain a static IP and have your provider set a custom PTR record, and 2) your provider does not block SMTP traffic.
It should also be noted that Mail-in-a-Box should not be installed on a machine that you intend to use for other purposes at the same time.
