Anybody having issues with the default ipad email app

I am having issues with downloading emails on my ipad using the default app on iPadOS18.2.
I dont have an error but the emails in the app are not in sync, it gets stuck on “downloading x messages” or “checking for mail”. When i quit the app and reopen, it usually resolves itself.
I tried Outlook for iPad and this does not seem to have the issue so i am guessing it is an Apple issue and not MiaB.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Forget Outlook.

The default Apple client is called Mail.app

iOS 18.2 seems to have made some changes to the mail app. It might be worthwhile to hit up Apple support or forums for your specific issue.

Note that there also seems to be some IMAP issues reported on the Apple support forums, and there is an extra step to add the exchange account iOS and autodiscovery · Issue #127 · Z-Hub/Z-Push · GitHub , so your mileage may vary with @vele 's suggestion.

Thanks both. I rebooted the iPad and now the issue went away so I think it is an IMAP Apple issue that surfaced with the new 18.2 mail app release.

Just to add to my previous post, I’ve updated to iOS 18.2.2 and adding exchange accounts works without issues. Hopefully the other Mail problems are also resolved :blush:

Finally some improvements from Apple in their Mail.app. They introduced Promotions and Updates. WOW.
