Allow external server with phpmailer to send emails

Hey,
so I’ve setup mail in a box and everything so far is working. However since I want to use mail in a box as a external mail server for another website, what are the steps I need to take to make it work?
The external server is sending mail via phpmailer which should use my new set up mail in a box server as mail server.

You need to use SMTP within phpmailer … I know nothing about phpmailer, but maybe this except from an answer on Stack Overflow will help point you in the right direction.
