Power-MiaB added some features to MiaB, but the project has since been abandoned. However, if, like me, you have some servers running P-MiaB, migrating them the the latest MiaB (with up to date NextCloud for instance) seemed daunting.

If seems though that the bulk, if not all the changes made in P-MiaB are in the UI, so I tested a simple rsync like [[Can an actual upgrade be done instead of a re-install? - #7 by fmonts](https://discourse.mailinabox.email/t/can-an-actual-upgrade-be-done-instead-of-a-re-install/12693/7)]([https://described](https://described) here) to copy /home/user-data to a new installation of MiaB and it seems to work fine.

Has anyone done this and are there any problems detected that are not showing up in the UI?

I never ran Power-MIAB – but I’m guessing if you move your /home/user-data/ to a new box and then run the setup script you should probably have a working mail instance

(update DNS or whatever you have to do)
